All quotations and installations are subject to the following terms and conditions.

Quotations

When a customer places a conclusive order for carpets based on the customer's own measurements and does not require an estimation by the company, the customer accepts full liability for the accuracy of the dimensions stipulated.

Where quotations are estimated from scale or dimensional drawings, the quotations are subject to verification with a site measurement by Christchurch Carpet. Accordingly, all quotations prepared from drawings are a guide only and may differ once a site measurement is completed.

The right to cancel does NOT apply to products that are made to your specifications. This includes floor coverings, which have been cut from a roll to your specific order size. If the products are excluded from your right to cancel, we will find out whether or not they have already been cut to your specifications and if not we will accept a cancellation of your order and refund your money. If, however, the product has been prepared for you we will only accept cancellation if we may deduct a proportion of the purchase price from the refund we issue to you to cover the losses we will incur in selling your purchase as a reduced price remnant in one of our stores. We will advise you of any such charge and you may then decide whether or not you wish to cancel the order.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure satisfaction, exact colour/design matching cannot be guaranteed between different widths of carpet, due to manufacturing tolerances over which we have no control. Neither can exact matching be guaranteed between the carpet supplied and the sample displayed in the store.

All fabrics especially carpets are liable to pile shading differences, light and dark areas arising from unequal surface pressure. This is in no way detrimental to the durability of the carpet and is not a fault in manufacture.

The images of the products on this website are for illustrative purposes only. Although we have made every reasonable effort to display the colours and patterns accurately, we cannot guarantee that your computer's display of the colours accurately reflects the colour of the products. The products you receive may vary slightly from those images. Before placing an order, we recommend viewing our products in person, either in our store or via a sample. We cannot guarantee the colour or pattern matching from sample to sample. It is possible that there may be minor differences due to the natural production of the products. These differences are not manufacturing faults.
All products shown on our site are subject to availability. We will contact you via phone or e-mail as soon as possible if the product you have ordered is not available and we will not process your order if made. All manufacturers’ sizes, dimensions and measurements indicated on our site or in your order have a 1.5% tolerance.

All orders are accepted upon receipt of a 50% deposit, with the balance due upon completion. Deposits via credit/debit cards will be processed with your order. Delays in installation, caused by or on behalf of the customer will result in full payment of materials being requested. Free storage will be provided for the first 30 days, following this a charge may apply.

A cancellation charge may be applied where a scheduled installation date is cancelled at less than 3 working days notice.
All quotations are firm for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
The legal and equitable title to the goods supplied under any contract will not pass to the purchaser until the price for the goods and all other sums due from the purchaser has been paid in full.
Where applicable, Value Added Tax (VAT) will be charged at the rate applicable on the date of supply.
Disputes: Any disputes shall be subject to English Law.
Disclaimer: Any information and technical advice given by the company, whether verbal or written is for guidance only and is submitted in good faith.
Acceptance of a quote implies acceptance of Christchurch Carpets terms and conditions.
Fitting
Where an independent self-employed fitter carries out work, you should make payment of the fitting balance to him the day the work is completed.
You acknowledge that we have made it clear that any fitting will be undertaken by a self-employed fitter who is completely independent of us; however, we do guarantee all work carried out through us.
We offer to trim doors strictly on the understanding that it will be undertaken by a third party who is completely independent of us, therefore we take no responsibility for any damage to doors or floor coverings as a result. A charge for this service will be payable direct to the third party on completion.
All areas must be clear of other trades and their equipment so installation work may be completed. We will require adequate power and lighting on site.
Where other trades may need to finish work following carpet installation, no allowance has been made to provide plastic protection to the carpet.
It is the customer's responsibility to notify the fitter in writing of the location of any pipes or cables, which might be damaged during the fitting. No responsibility can be accepted for damage to underfloor pipes or cables or for consequential damage to property or fittings.
To facilitate speedy and efficient fitting, rooms to be fitted must be cleared of furniture, effects and old carpet prior to the fitter's arrival. The cost of such clearance is not included in our quotation unless stated. If the fitters are required to move furniture, electrical equipment/appliances and other objects in the area of installation, it is carried out entirely at the risk of the customer. We strongly recommend that the movement of all large items be supervised by the client. We ask that all small items and breakables are moved by the client prior to our arrival. Christchurch Carpets and their fitters are unable to accept responsibility for damage or breakages caused during the movement of the client’s possessions. We do not undertake the disconnection and reconnection of washing machines, fridges, dishwashers, cookers etc. This would be down to you the customer to have done this prior to our arrival. The cost of such clearance is not included in our quotation unless stated.
Whilst every care is taken during the installation of flooring, unfortunately, we can never rule out the odd scuff or mark made during the fitting process. If you have recently had your property decorated you must allow time for paintwork to be completely dry as new paintwork can be extremely vulnerable. We would recommend that an allowance is made for your decorator to return to site after the work completes, to make good any paintwork. Unfortunately, Christchurch Carpets cannot be responsible for any costs incurred.
Should any time be wasted by our fitters or employees due to not being able to gain access to the site or deliver or install carpets/floor covering, or the site not being ready to receive fitting on the day agreed, this will result in a charge being made to the customer to recover the losses to the company.

While every effort is made to deliver and fit as arranged, delivery promises are approximate only, and failure to deliver on the stated date or at a specified time shall not render us liable for damages, lost time or any other consequential loss.
